- Take a spoilt or unused CD or DVD and place it on a flat surface with the label side down.
- Now rub the disk with a rough steel wool so that you do not see your reflection in it. Remember to rub it in a circular pattern.
- Select a simple image and trace its outline on another paper with a pencil. Now place the image on the disk part that was rubbed. Place the image upside down. Now scribble the backside of the image and transfer the image on the disk.
- Slowly trace the image outline on the disk with a needle or a pin. Rub the extra lines with the help of a cloth.
- Fill the outside of the image by making vertically perpendicular lines to the image. Doing this can get you a 3D or holographic effect.
- Now finish the hologram by using steel wool and rubbing the image in spherical pattern.
- Neatly cut your hologram to the anticipated image size with a knife.
